The Origin and Journey of "Planning My Life"
The inception of "Planning My Life" is rooted in a vision to democratise financial planning and empower individuals to take control of their lives and finances. The founder, Steve Conley, a former head of investments at HSBC and a key figure in other renowned banks and financial institutions, has been a trailblazer in the industry.

With a career that saw him climb the corporate ladder until the age of 50, he played a pivotal role as the lead proposition architect for the launch of the UK's first "wrap platform" and "retail multi-asset funds." These innovative initiatives became the building blocks of DIY investing, transforming the UK retail investment market, and are now the preferred solution for 8 in 10 investors.

However, a shift in the financial industry's focus from empowering clients to profit-driven motives led to disillusionment, as Steve describes in his book: Your Money or Your Life: Unmask the Highway Robbers, Create Wealth in Every Area of Your Life!".
Recognising that the product sales side of financial planning failed to serve the needs of most people, he made a bold decision. On 2nd April 2012, he left the corporate world and founded the Academy of Life Planning, an independent firm dedicated to non-intermediating financial planning. The business's ethos was clear: sell plans, not products, and guide clients in DIY investing within the commoditised investment industry he had helped create.

After a decade of success, the COVID pandemic prompted another evolution. The focus shifted to training other non-intermediating planners, leading to hundreds graduating from his Academy.

In 2023, with the rise of AI technology, a new realisation emerged: 90% of people could be their own life and financial planner 90% of the time with the right support. This insight led to the launch of "Planning My Life" in August 2023, introducing the AI Life Planner that could empower people at a low cost to create personalised life plans.
